The EP Now to Recall, was conceived by historical curiosity–about Goethe’s reflections on the early days of ballooning in the 1700’s, the landlocked American frontier of the early 19th century, the expansion of 1860’s America via the lens of a family heirloom hobo cane, and the devastation of WWI’s trenches. MP3Hugger compared it to Simon & Garfunkel – “the lush folk that has the propensity to have us staring in the middle distance with a teary eye in tow.”
North Light has been described as, “a quintessential winter album: lean, lonesome, and full of longing,” and compared to Bon Iver and Sparklehorse. A concept album rich in allusion and imagery, it was painstakingly recorded in the dark months of a life transition and reflects the struggle of that time in its depth and sincerity.
